About the Service
Our gathering is expected to be many 100s of people.
It will be a large multi-community, multi-club and multi-cultural memorial event.
Please arrive early from 1pm to park and find your place and settle in calmly.
At 2pm – a Life Celebration Ceremony will begin, officiated by Sarah Tolmie (Life & Love Community Funerals with Picaluna) – with contributions and tributes from many clubs, teams and friends.
This ceremony will be held on the Club balcony – with chairs set up on the balcony and inside the room for approx. 150 people. There will be a big overflow area underneath the balcony, at the club marshalling area, with spill over into the grass and sandhills and café area, where a sound system and a large TV screen will broadcast the ceremony taking place above.

Words of Caretaking and Personal Reflection
Tributes and Dedications from Clubs and Friends
Slideshow
Final Caretaking and Māori Prayer
3.30pm – Ceremony Closing
4pm – Haka on the shore and Paddle out
4-6pm – Wake
The Club Bar will be open after the ceremony.
Some catering is being arranged by friends and it would be also welcome if folks can also
bring a share plate, grazing table contributions and/or your own picnic supplies too.

Please be advised the day will be videoed for a commemorative film, including drone
footage.
