About the Service
The celebration will be held at ‘The Jetty’, at ‘Sharla Park’, a beautiful farm property overlooking fields and at the waters edge.
After the ceremony, you are warmly invited to stay for a ginger beer (Mike’s favourite) and then either make your way to the ‘Pinnaroo Lawn Cemetery’ (section 23, plot 911) to be present for the burial (at approximately 11am), or head directly to the ‘Green Room’ at the Eaton’s Hill Hotel where we will join you promptly for food and drinks and to share some photos memories from Mike’s life.
We look forward to this part the most as it is when we get to spend time together as Mike’s family and friends and share stories and memories of his life.
The wake will be held at the Green Room at Eatons Hill Hotel, 646 South Pine Road, Eatons Hill, 4037 from 11am.
We will be outdoors for the ceremony and burial, so please bring a hat or umbrella for your comfort. If the weather is not kind to us, we will move undercover for the ceremony.
Due to the hot weather tomorrow morning for Mike’s funeral, is it suggested that you wear smart shorts and a short sleeved collared shirt for the men, and a comfortable cool outfit for the women. Please also bring an umbrella and/or hat to protect from the sun. There is no need for suits or very formal attire, as it will be far too hot, and Mike has always liked to dress casual anyway.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the RBWH Foundation. During his later years, Mike spent a lot of time at the RBWH and he thought their doctors and their care was unsurpassed. The RBWH foundation gave Mike the gift of time through their excellent care and your donation can allow doctors and caregivers to provide others with this same gift
