Celebrant, Funeral Director, Interfaith Minister

A proud Blue Mountains local, I’m passionate about re-imagining funeral care and helping families do death differently.

I know from my own bereavements, a ‘good funeral’ is one that feels deeply personal and holds the paradox of grief & gratitude. I also know what a difference it makes to have compassionate & unflinching support alongside you at life’s hardest moments.

As a Picaluna Funeral Director, I offer gentle support throughout the entire process, offering a continuity of care that means I am alongside you every step of the way, from the initial days after your person has died – to the completion of the ceremony or farewell of your choosing. I walk alongside you, guiding and explaining the process, so you can make informed decisions that feel right for you and your person.

With a background spanning 20+ years in the arts – my creativity and celebrancy are interwoven in devotion to your unique story.  An ordained Interfaith Minister, I passionately serve people of all faiths, no faith and those who may resonate with being more ‘spiritual’ than religious. A born and bred Blue Mountains gal, I bring a deep understanding of the Blue Mountains community. I craft ceremonies that embrace the abundant creativity of our close-knit community and incorporates the stunning natural beauty of our local landscape.

I pour my whole heart into each and every family who I have the privilege of supporting.

It would be an honour to walk alongside you.

TESTIMONIALS:

“I highly recommend Amy for anyone in need of funeral services. I cannot express enough gratitude for her professionalism, compassion and attention to detail. From our very first meeting, Amy was compassionate, respectful, and patient, guiding us through every step of the process with sensitivity and kindness. Her respect and dedication to her profession is admirable and she made an incredibly difficult task feel effortless and allowed us the space to grieve with love and laughter.”

“When we lost our beloved husband, father and Opapa, we were faced with wanting a simple and meaningful burial without having a formal funeral service, as he had not wanted that. Amy provided us with gentle support and guidance as she led us through the graveside rituals. She spent time with us beforehand learning about his life, so her words were entirely appropriate and in tune with our occasion. It could not have been more perfect.
We could not have asked for a more tender and loving guide as we said our last goodbyes. Thank you, Amy, for holding us all at this precious time.”

“Amy provided such heartfelt care and guidance during my grandmother’s funeral. She created a beautiful, bespoke ceremony that truly honoured her long life and reflected our family’s wishes (which wasn’t easy with a jumble of Catholics and atheists!) – but Amy held it all with such grace and tenderness and found a way to weave in something for everyone. Amy’s compassion and attention to detail made a difficult time feel peaceful and full of meaning. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”
